THE HARD ROAD MAY BE THE BEST ROAD
I’ve been reading through Exodus lately and came across a verse that stuck out to me. Exodus 13:17 states, “When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said, ‘Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt.’” This verse reminded me that sometimes God may lead us down the difficult path and many times we may not understand why. God knows all, and often times, He may be sparing us from greater difficulty later on, by leading us through a little right now. God knew that if He allowed Moses and the Hebrews to travel the easy route, they would have ended up back into slavery. So, He led them through a more longer and harder way in order to fulfill His promise of deliverance. What trying circumstances are you going through today? Trust that God knows what’s best for us. What may be difficult today, may be sparing you from something harder down the road. What may be hardship today may lead to great blessings tomorrow.
